Manfred von Richthofen : The Red Baron Revisited [HD]

German World War I flying Ace, Rittmeister Baron Manfred von Richthofen, the Red Baron, with his Fokker Dr.I triplane. The plane was designed by Anthony Fokker’s chief designer, Rheinhold Platz, and was powered by a 110hp, 9 cylinder Oberursel UR-II rotary engine. The Dr.I, or Dreidecker, had a remarkable rate of climb and could virtually turn in it’s own length!

The Baron stuck with the Dr.I, even when it was no longer in it’s prime.

Any connection between the length of this video (3:03) and the bullet which killed the Baron (303) is strictly coincidence.
