Inspection en vol

After a mission, whether in training or real-world operations, a “two-ship” (Air Force) or “section” (Navy/Marine Corps) of fighter aircraft will look each other over for any battle damage, missing panels, fluid leaks, hung ordnance, etc. In training it’s called “clean & dry checks.” In combat it’s “battle damage checks.” Either way, it’s a lot like checking each other for ticks.
