Bernard Eckey is an Australian and New Zealand agent for Schleichers of Germany, and he writes about his unique experience flying the ETA with Hans Werner Grosse. The ETA still seems to be shrouded in mystery. Does it really cost $1.5 million? Does it really have a glide angle of 75:1? Grosse secured the prototype ETA, which proved to be considerably over design weight. It has since been « worked on” and is now reputed to be as good as the current production run.
