Ukraine: La Macédoine du Nord donne des Su-25

NEWS

While Poland and Slovakia have become the first NATO nations to donate fighter jets to Ukraine as it continues to defend its sovereign territory from Russian invaders, the North Macedonian government has now publicly confirmed that it transferred four Sukhoi Su-25 Frogfoots to the war-torn nation last year.

The announcement, which was made by North Macedonia’s Defence Minister Slavjanka Petrovska on March 14, effectively confirms earlier reports from AirForces Monthly and Key.Aero in July 2022 that Skopje had transferred four non-airworthy Frogfoot ground attack/strike jets – comprising three single-seat Su-25s and one dual-seat Su-25UB – to Kyiv, along with at least eight T-72A main battle tanks (MBTs).

A North Macedonian Su-25 Frogfoot ground attack/strike aircraft (serial 121) is seen in long-term storage at Petrovec Air Base, near Skopje, on September 26, 2006.
