Dear pilots, Dear aircraft operators,
As of November 15^th 2012 the new ICAO flight plan (FPL2012) will become effective.
The nature and scope of the amendment is to update the ICAO model flight plan form in order to meet the needs of aircraft with advanced capabilities and the evolving requirements of automated air traffic management (ATM) systems, while taking into account compatibility with existing systems, human factors, training, cost and transition aspects.
Please find attached an AIC detailing the changes and transition phases.
Everybody filing flight plans is urged to file flight plans in the NEW format as of November 12^th , 2012 and will have to use the NEW format as of November 15^th , 2012.
